As a kid growing up with a drummer dad and writer mother, I endured grueling rehearsals and experienced hard critique. I learned how quality and craft is performed and produced. Through design, I’m able to express myself in this way, and honor my teachers.

Trained in graphic design at a polytechnic university where art and business are taught as one, I was professionally mentored by San Francisco’s digital design and business vanguards. Through client studio work and internal design teams, I saw that the best companies invest in creative professionals, their discipline, and their ideas.

As a designer, I’m expected to develop strong concepts before execution. However, I also believe in curiosity and the breakthroughs that come. You have to trust the process. I improvise, prototype to learn, and collaborate with teams of all kinds.

Designing within the creative communities of San Francisco, Los Angeles, and New York, I’ve found myself at the intersection of technology, entertainment, and creative tools. This domain and its discerning crowd has required that I sweat the details and celebrate the craft. I’ve burned the midnight oil in person with partners in Taiwan, India, Europe, and the UK – a global creative network.

As a player/coach, I am in design tools daily by example, and dedicated to mentoring creative professionals early in their careers. I take great joy in seeing their success, and I use the products we’ve made together.
